Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high centred near New Zealand is extending a ridge towards the NSW coast and directing an onshore airstream. A trough extends southwards from Queensland into the far western NSW. A frontal system with an associated trough is likely to enter southwest NSW later on Friday before moving across the state over the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers in the northeast. Isolated afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms over the far north. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing along the southern border. Early fog patches along the ranges and coastal districts. Very warm to hot day in the west. Northeast to northwest winds over the inland ahead of a late southwesterly change in the southwest. Southeast to northeast winds along the coast, strengthening in the south.Saturday 29 OctoberPatchy rain in the southwest extending northeast with the trough and becoming isolated showers. Showers tending scattered over central parts and the southeast. Possible thunderstorms from northwest to southeast NSW. Early fog patches on the central and northern ranges. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast ahead of a south to southwesterly change over the remainder.Sunday 30 OctoberIsolated showers, becoming scattered with possible thunderstorms near and ahead of the trough as it moves from central parts of the state through to the northeast. Cloudy but remaining fine in the southwest. Southwest to southerly winds extending from southern and western districts through central parts. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast.Monday 31 OctoberIsolated showers along central and northern parts of the coast as well as the northern ranges. Chance of morning showers on the far south coast. Southwest to southeast winds. Northwest to northeast winds at first in the far northeast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.Product IDN10031
