Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 27/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is over the Tasman sea and is moving eastwards. A trough of low pressure near the western border is moving eastwards and will extend over the State on Thursday and Friday. A front is expected to move over southern coasts on Saturday, with a new high pressure system expected to develop to the southwest of the Bight during the weekend, where it will remain till early next week.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers extending from the west to reach Oodnadatta to Renmark late evening. Isolated thunderstorms developing west of Coober Pedy to Port Lincoln, becoming scattered in the far west during the afternoon. Warm in the south grading to hot in the north and west. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, fresh in the west during the day.Friday 28 OctoberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms extending across the majority of the State during the day, thunderstorms increasing to scattered over the Northwest Pastoral, Eastern Eyre Peninsula and Flinders districts. Warm to hot with moderate northerly winds, shifting milder southerly from the west during the day. Showers easing to isolated about the southern agricultural area during the day.Saturday 29 OctoberIsolated showers about the southern agricultural area, contracting to southern coasts and ranges during the day. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the north. Cool to mild with moderate southerly winds.Sunday 30 October
Isolated morning showers about the coasts and ranges, fine elsewhere. Showers contracting to the Lower South East coast during the evening. Cool to mild with moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh about southern coasts.
Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be 5 to 15 mm southwest of Oodnadatta to Renmark, with local falls of 15 to 35 mm in the thunderstorms over the Northwest Pastoral and western parts of the West Coast district. Up to 5 mm is expected elsewhere.
Monday until WednesdayIsolated showers are expected to persist about the Lower South East coast. It will be fine elsewhere apart from isolated showers about the western border area on Tuesday. Temperatures will be mild with light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
