Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will develop over the Bight on Thursday, before moving eastwards across western and central Bass Strait on Friday and then through east Bass Strait early Saturday. A low pressure centre moves into western Bass Strait Saturday, as part of a broad area of low pressure over Victoria, before the low centre moves quickly into the Tasman Sea on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine. Mild to warm with moderate southeasterly winds, tending easterly along the coast and freshening.Thursday 27 OctoberA fine day throughout although increasing cloud later in the day with an evening shower developing over the southwest. Mainly sunny in the east. Mild to warm with light to moderate northeast winds and freshening easterly seabreezes along the coast.Friday 28 OctoberAreas of rain developing in the west during the morning and extending to eastern districts by the evening. Mild to warm with a fresh to strong northerly wind, shifting cooler southwesterly over western areas during the day. The chance of a thunderstorm with the change.Saturday 29 OctoberAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms contracting eastwards through northeast districts during the afternoon. Isolated showers persisting on and south of the ranges. Moderate to fresh northwesterly winds at first shifting to cooler fresh and gusty west to southwest winds throughout.Sunday 30 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges, tending isolated in the north. Cooler with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
