Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A stationary high pressure system over the northern Tasman Sea extends a ridge into northern New South Wales. This high pressure ridge is weakening ahead of a cold front that is currently situated over southern New South Wales. This front is forecast to sweep across southeast Australia during today and Wednesday, bringing a southerly change to most of the New South Wales coast before it weakens into a trough over the north. Following this, the next high is forecast to move from the Bight to the southern Tasman Sea mid-week, establishing an onshore airstream.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers for the southeastern third of the state, locally heavy on the southern ranges during the morning. Isolated showers elsewhere, clearing later in the southwest. Possible thunderstorms for most districts. Northeast to northwest winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds developing in the remainder.Wednesday 26 OctoberIsolated showers on the western slopes and plains, tending scattered about most of the ranges and coast. Possible thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine to the far west. Northerly winds in the far northeast, and south to southeast winds elsewhere.Thursday 27 OctoberScattered showers in the northeast and isolated showers along the south coast. Fine remainder. Northeast to southeast winds.Friday 28 OctoberIsolated showers in the northeast clearing, and developing in the southwest later. Fine remainder.
