Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will enter western Victoria tonight before moving to the east of the State on Monday. A high pressure system will strengthen to the west of Tasmania on Tuesday, extending a ridge through Bass Strait, before the high centre moves into the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. Another low pressure trough will develop over the Bight on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms over southern and mountain areas, clearing overnight. Light to moderate northwesterly winds tending southwesterly in the west later.Monday 24 OctoberRain developing early morning from the west and extending east by evening. Locally heavy falls about the southwest and the Dividing Range. Mild with moderate southerly winds.Tuesday 25 OctoberIsolated showers and drizzle in the south, clearing east by evening. Fine elsewhere. Mild with light to moderate southeasterly winds.Wednesday 26 OctoberFine apart from clearing isolated showers from the far east. Light to moderate southeasterly winds.Thursday 27 OctoberFine. Moderate northerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
