Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 21/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge will be located over Bass Strait during tonight and Saturday. An upper level trough will move over Victoria during Saturday. A low pressure trough will enter western Victoria on Sunday before moving to the east of the State on Monday. The high pressure ridge will redevelop over Bass Strait during Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMostly cloudy with isolated showers, mainly over the north and east. Light to moderate southerly winds.Saturday 22 OctoberCloudy with scattered showers,. The chance of thunderstorms near the ranges. Mild in the south with light to moderate southerly winds, warm in the north with light and variable winds.Sunday 23 OctoberIsolated showers near the eastern ranges. Scattered showers developing from the west during the afternoon and evening. A warm day with light to moderate northwesterly winds tending southwesterly in the west later.Monday 24 OctoberRain areas contracting northwards with just isolated showers to follow. Mild with fresh southerly winds gradually easing from the west.Tuesday 25 OctoberIsolated showers and drizzle in the east but fine elsewhere.
