Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over southwestern Victoria will move across central Victoria this evening before stalling over eastern Victoria on Friday and Saturday. A high pressure ridge will move through Bass Strait on Friday and Saturday. Another low pressure trough will enter western Victoria on Sunday before moving to the east of the State on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayA milder southwesterly change in the southwest slowly extending eastwards across western and central areas during the evening. Fine in the east. Isolated showers over western and central areas tending to rain areas in the southwest. Isolated thunderstorms possible, mainly in the west.Friday 21 OctoberMostly cloudy with rain areas extending eastwards, then tending to isolated showers from the southwest. The chance of thunderstorms in the north and east. Mild in the south with light to moderate southerly winds, warm in the north with light and variable winds.Saturday 22 OctoberCloudy with scattered showers, mainly in the north and east. The chance of thunderstorms in the north and east. Mild in the south with light to moderate southerly winds, warm in the north with light and variable winds.Sunday 23 OctoberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine elsewhere until scattered showers develop from the west during the afternoon and evening. A warm day light to moderate northwesterly winds tending southwesterly in the west later.Monday 24 OctoberRain areas. Isolated thunderstorms over the northeast.
