Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system is centred just off the NSW coast. The high is expected to remain semi stationary during the next few days, drifting very slowly eastwards. It is expected to remain over the Tasman Sea until at least Sunday. Towards the end of the week a trough is expected to move across Victoria, leading to a weak southerly change along the NSW coast later Friday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayThe chance of a few showers about the far north coast. Fine and sunny remainder. North to northeast winds inland, and southeast to northeast winds along the coast.Thursday 20 OctoberCloud developing over the far southwest of the state during the afternoon and evening with the chance of a late shower or two near the far western Victorian border. Partly cloudy in the far northeast. Sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds. A late southerly change in the southwest.Friday 21 OctoberPartly cloudy across the south, with a little light patchy rain developing near the Victorian border. Fine and mostly sunny in the north. East to northeast winds in the north, and south to southwest winds developing in the south, tending south to southeast along the coast.Saturday 22 OctoberIsolated showers across the the south, with possible thunderstorms in the southeast, otherwise fine with cloud gradually extending over western and central parts. North to northeast winds in the north, southwest to southeast winds in the south.Sunday 23 OctoberIsolated showers along the southern border districts. Fine remainder. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast. Northwest to southwest winds in the southwest.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
