Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 18/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system is centred just off the NSW coast. The high is expected to drift very slowly east during the next few days, but should remain over the Tasman Sea until at least Saturday. Towards the end of the week a trough is expected to move across Victoria and into southern NSW, but currently looks unlikely to bring significant precipitation.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayThe chance of showers about the far north coast. Early fog patches about the coast and ranges. Fine and sunny otherwise. North to northeast winds inland, and southeast to northeast winds along the coast.Thursday 20 OctoberCloud developing over the southwest of the state with the chance of late showers near the Victorian border. Fine and sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds. A late southerly change in the southwest.Friday 21 OctoberPartly cloudy across the south, with isolated showers developing. Fine and mostly sunny in central and northern districts. East to northeast winds in the north, and south to southwest winds developing in the south.Saturday 22 OctoberThe chance of showers across the the south, otherwise fine. Mainly east to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDN10031
