Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over Victoria extends a ridge over NSW and a trough extends from Queensland into the north of NSW. The trough will move west toward South Australia on Tuesday and weaken. The high will move over the NSW coast on Tuesday, and over the Tasman Sea from Wednesday where it will remain until Saturday. A trough will affect southern NSW late in the week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers on the far north coast. The chance of a shower or thunderstorm about the northeastern inland. Clear skies elsewhere. East to southeast winds.Tuesday 18 OctoberThe chance of isolated showers on the far north coast. Possible showers and thunderstorms developing over the far northwestern inland. Sunny elsewhere. East to northeast winds.Wednesday 19 OctoberPatchy morning fog on the ranges. The chance of a few isolated showers on the far north coast. Sunny remainder. Northwest to northeast winds in the west. Mostly east to northeast winds along the coast.Thursday 20 OctoberIncreasing cloud over the southwest of the state with the chance of isolated showers. Sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds ahead of a late southwesterly change in the far southwest.Friday 21 OctoberCloudy with isolated showers in the south. Mostly sunny in the north. Northeast to northwest winds in the north. South to southwest winds in the south behind the trough.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
