Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 15/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
The relatively cold and gusty west to southwesterly airflow over Victoria will ease later today as the next high pressure system approaches western Victoria. The high will cross the State on Monday and will then move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by Wednesday. A weak surface trough will approach the western border late Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas, scattered near the coast and contracting to the central and east coasts by the evening. Local hail about the coast and snow showers above 1400 metres. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, becoming strong and squally over Gippsland and along the coast.Monday 17 OctoberIsolated showers about the Gippsland coast clearing during the morning. Light morning frost patches in the north and west. A fine, cool to mild and mostly sunny afternoon. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds tending northeast in the west. Local afternoon seabreezes.Tuesday 18 OctoberEarly fog patches in the east. A fine sunny day. Mild to warm in the south, warm in the north. Light northeast to northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes.Wednesday 19 OctoberEarly fog patches in the east and the chance of a later shower in the far southwest. Otherwise a fine and mainly sunny day. Warm to hot in the north and west with a freshening north to northwest wind, milder in the east with local seabreezes along the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
