Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 14/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system in the Tasman Sea will drift towards New Zealand on Saturday. A low pressure trough will enter western Victoria late today, crossing to the east on Saturday afternoon. A cold front will cross southern Victoria on Saturday. A new high pressure system will approach western Victoria late on Sunday before crossing the State on Monday. The high will move into the Tasman Sea on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers. The chance of thunderstorms mainly about the eastern highlands. Light to moderate north to northeasterly winds shifting westerly over western districts.Saturday 15 OctoberIsolated showers, scattered near the coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the east. Cool to mild with fresh west to southwest winds extending throughout.Sunday 16 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain areas, scattered near the coast. Local hail about the coast and snow showers above 1400 metres. Cool with moderate to fresh west to southwesterly winds, stronger along the coast.Monday 17 OctoberIsolated coastal showers clearing during the morning. Light morning frost patches in the north. A fine, cool to mild and mostly sunny afternoon. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 18 OctoberEarly fog patches in the east. A fine sunny day. Mild to warm in the south, warm in the north. Light northeast to northerly winds and afternoon seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
