Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 14/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak low pressure trough lies over far western New South Wales. The trough will deepen today before moving to the northeast during Saturday as a cold front moves across the far south of the state. On Sunday a high pressure system will move south of the Bight extending a ridge to the eastern Tasman Sea and the trough will move further northeast and weaken. The high is expected to move over the southwestern Tasman Sea on Monday and become slow-moving maintaining the ridge to north coast.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPartly cloudy in the southwest. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered over the northeastern inland. Isolated thunderstorms through most central and eastern parts, mostly afternoon and evening and more likely in the northeastern inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 15 OctoberPartly cloudy in the west. Isolated showers on the southern half of the coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere tending scattered to widespread over the northeastern inland. Thunderstorms possibly severe over the northeastern inland. Southeast to northeast winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending through the west and southeast.Sunday 16 OctoberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Possible showers on south coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. South to southwest change extending throughout.Monday 17 OctoberIsolated showers on the north and central coasts possibly extending to the adjacent northern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southwest to southeast winds.Tuesday 18 OctoberIsolated showers on the far north coast. Partly cloudy sunny elsewhere.
