Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 12/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the eastern Bight extends a ridge towards the Coral Sea. It will move eastwards today, maintaining a ridge to the north coast. A trough will move over South Australia following this high. A cold front within the trough will reach the far west of NSW late Friday. The front will cross western NSW during Saturday and the southerly change will move along the coast from late Saturday and during Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the central and northeastern parts, more likely near the Queensland border. Showers more isolated further to the south and west. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Early patchy fog, mostly about the central and southern coast and adjacent ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 14 OctoberIsolated showers over most of the state apart from the far west, tending scattered in the northern inland. Isolated thunderstorms in the north, as well as central ranges and slopes, more likely over the northern inland. Southeast to northeast winds.Saturday 15 OctoberIsolated showers with the chance of thunderstorms over most of the state apart from the far west, tending scattered in the northern inland, with thunderstorms less likely over the coast. Southeast to northeast winds ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending through the west and south.Sunday 16 OctoberIsolated showers in the northeast and on the coast behind the southerly change. South to southwesterly winds. West to northwest winds at first in the northeast of the state ahead of the change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
