Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 11/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight will move slowly eastwards, crossing Victoria on Wednesday then reaching the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A low pressure trough will enter western Victoria late Friday. A cold front forecast to cross Bass Strait on Saturday will link with the trough, dragging it to the east of Victoria by Saturday night.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers mainly on and south of the ranges falling as snow above 1600 metres. Southwesterly winds easing.Wednesday 12 OctoberIsolated early morning fog and frost inland. Fine apart from isolated showers near the coast, clearing eastwards during the afternoon. Partly cloudy in the south, but mostly sunny over the north. Mild with light winds.Thursday 13 OctoberIsolated morning fog and frost patches then a fine, mild to warm and mostly sunny day with just some patchy high cloud extending from the north. Light northeasterly winds and fresh afternoon seabreezes developing along the coast.Friday 14 OctoberIsolated afternoon showers, more widespread over the northeast and southwest. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Mild to warm with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds shifting westerly over western districts late in the day.Saturday 15 OctoberScattered showers over the northeast and far southwest, but only isolated showers elsewhere. Cool to mild with fresh west to southwest winds gradually extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
