Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving through northeastern New South Wales and a high pressure system near the Bight is slowly moving east extending a ridge behind the front. The high will move over the southwestern Tasman Sea Wednesday night and then it will move towards New Zealand during Thursday and Friday maintaining the ridge to the north coast as a low pressure trough moves over the far west of the state. The trough is expected to contract to the northeast on Saturday and weaken during Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayMostly sunny apart from the chance of showers in the far southeastern inland or snow showers on the Alps. Early frost patches on the southern and central ranges. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 12 OctoberThe chance of showers in the far northeast and far southeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early frost areas on the southern and central ranges and slopes. Early patchy fog, mostly about the ranges. Southeast to southwest winds, turning easterly on the northern coast later.Thursday 13 OctoberIsolated showers over the central and northeastern parts, more likely near the Queensland border. Partly cloudy remainder. Early patchy fog, mostly about the central and southern coast and adjacent ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 14 OctoberIsolated showers over most of the state apart from the far west, tending scattered in the inland north. Southeast to northeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
