Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will move through the far southeast on Tuesday. Behind the front, a high pressure system will move over the Bight extending a ridge to southeastern Australia. The high will enter the southwestern Tasman Sea on Thursday and then move towards New Zealand during Friday as low pressure trough enters the western parts of the state. The trough is expected to continue moving slowly east during Saturday and Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of showers in the northeast and far southeast, falling as snow about the Alpine peaks. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwest winds, fresh about the southern ranges and tending east to northeasterly along the coastal fringe for the remainder of the afternoon.Tuesday 11 OctoberMostly sunny apart from the chance of showers near Victorian border in the south and southeast and chance of snow about the Alpine peaks. Early frost patches on the southern and central ranges. Southeast to southwest winds.Wednesday 12 OctoberMostly sunny apart from the chance of showers in the far northeast and far southeast. Early frost areas on the southern and central ranges and slopes. Early patchy fog, mostly about the ranges. Southeast to southwest winds, turning easterly on the northern coast later.Thursday 13 OctoberIsolated showers over the central and northeastern parts, more likely near the Queensland border. Partly cloudy remainder. Early patchy fog, mostly about the central and southern coast and adjacent ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Friday 14 OctoberIsolated showers over most of the state apart from the far west, tending scattered in the inland north.
