Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high is located over the Tasman Sea, with another weak high in the Bight. Between these systems, a weak trough over eastern NSW is moving slowly eastwards. An upper trough is located to the west of the state and will affect central and eastern NSW on Saturday. Following this, a cold front will move across the state on Sunday before a high pressure ridge moves over southeastern Australia early next week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine in the far west. Scattered showers and thunderstorms in the east, more isolated west of the ranges. Showers and thunderstorms contracting eastwards during the day, mostly clearing by midnight. Southwest winds over most of the state. Southeast to northeast winds along the coast.Sunday 9 OctoberIsolated showers extending from the southwest into central and southeastern districts, and becoming scattered in the southern inland. Fine in the northeast. West to southwest winds, freshening about the central and southern ranges..Monday 10 OctoberIsolated showers in most parts at first, clearing in the west and tending scattered in the southeastern inland. Snow on the higher Alps. South to southwest winds.Tuesday 11 OctoberIsolated showers in the east of the state, falling as snow on the higher Alps at first. Fine in the west. South to southwest winds, tending southeasterly on the coast and eastern ranges later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
