Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad trough of low pressure over Victoria will begin to move eastwards during Saturday as a cold front moves across the Bight. The cold front is forecast to reach southwestern Victoria Sunday morning and will move across the state during the day. Another cold front will affect southern Victoria during Monday ahead of a high pressure system is expected to move over western districts on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers, more widespread about the ranges and the southwest. Isolated thunderstorms possible throughout, although more likely about the ranges. Heavy rain possible with thunderstorms. Light and variable winds and coastal seabreezes.Saturday 8 OctoberIsolated showers, more widespread about the ranges and over the south but remaining dry over the Mallee. Isolated thunderstorms possible about central and eastern districts during the morning contracting to the far east in the afternoon. Cool to mild with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.Sunday 9 OctoberRain areas developing over the southwest during the morning, reaching the north and east by late afternoon. Rain tending to showers from the southwest and mostly clearing over western and central districts by late evening. Cool with moderate to locally fresh west to northwest winds tending south to southwesterly.Monday 10 OctoberScattered showers on and south of the ranges, falling as snow above 1500m. Isolated showers over the north. Cool with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.Tuesday 11 OctoberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges clearing in the southwest during the evening. Partly cloudy but dry over the the north. Cool with light to moderate southwesterly windsThe next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
