Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system just east of Tasmania will move slowly eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough will approach western Victoria. The trough will weaken as it enters the State late on Thursday and will remain slow moving over eastern Victoria on Friday. A cold front will approach western Victoria late on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayEarly fog in Gippsland. Cloud increasing with patchy rain over western districts extending to central districts in the evening. Remaining dry in the east. Mild with moderate north to northeasterly winds but seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Thursday 6 OctoberIsolated showers extending over most districts by the afternoon. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms developing, mainly in the east. Generally mild with light and variable winds tending south to southeasterly in the south during the afternoon or evening.Friday 7 OctoberIsolated showers developing over most districts, becoming scattered in the east. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms, mainly in the east. Mild day with light to moderate southwesterly winds extending eastwards.Saturday 8 OctoberIsolated showers over southern and mountain districts, becoming scattered in the northeast. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Moderate northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
