Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred near Tasmania will move slowly eastwards during tonight and Tuesday and will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough will develop over the Bight on Tuesday and will approach western Victoria on Wednesday. The trough will weaken as it enters the State on Thursday and will remain slow moving over eastern Victoria on Friday. The next high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Wednesday, moving well south of Tasmania by late Friday, cradling the above low pressure trough.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers over far east Gippsland. Isolated showers also possible over the northern inland during the evening. Otherwise fine. Generally light winds and coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 4 OctoberLocal morning fog and frost. Isolated drizzle over far east Gippsland clearing during the morning otherwise a fine and mostly sunny day. Mild with light winds in the east and afternoon coastal seabreezes. Moderate northerly winds developing elsewhere.Wednesday 5 OctoberEarly fog in Gippsland. Cloud increasing with patchy rain over western districts extending to central districts in the morning and eastern districts late in the day or the evening. Mild with moderate to locally fresh north to northeasterly winds but seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast.Thursday 6 OctoberIsolated showers extending over most districts by the afternoon. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms developing, mainly in the east. Generally mild with light northerly winds tending south to southeasterly in the afternoon or evening.Friday 7 OctoberIsolated showers developing over most districts. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms, mainly in the east. Mild day with light to moderate southeast to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
