Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 3/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is moving over the southwestern Tasman Sea extending a ridge to New South Wales north coast. A low pressure trough will move over the far west of the state Wednesday night and then it will contract to northeast by Friday. The trough is expected weaken during Saturday as a cold front approaches from the west.
Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers east of the Divide and on the northern slopes, tending scattered about the northern coast and ranges. Possible afternoon showers over parts of the west. The chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast. Fine in the west. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast in the north at first.Tuesday 4 OctoberIsolated showers on the central and north coasts, contracting north and clearing. Patchy rain developing in the far west later. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Fresh southerly winds along the coast. Moderate southeast to northeast winds inland.Wednesday 5 OctoberRain areas in the west. Cloud increasing elsewhere. South to southeasterly winds on the north coast, northwest to northeast elsewhere.Thursday 6 OctoberRain areas mostly west of the Divide clearing from the west. Northwest to northeast winds turning southwesterly in the west.Friday 7 OctoberMostly sunny in the northwest. Isolated showers elsewhere tending scattered on the western slopes of the southern ranges. South to southwest winds extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
