Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 2/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system off the northern New South Wales coast will move southeastwards across the Tasman Sea today. A high pressure system south of the Bight will be centred just to the west of Tasmania by late today. The high will move slowly eastwards during Monday and Tuesday and will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Wednesday. A low pressure trough will develop over the Bight on Tuesday but will weaken as it approaches Victoria on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayLocal morning frost over the southwestern inland. Scattered showers and possible hail over Gippsland, falling as snow above 1200 metres. Isolated morning showers over the central coast and isolated showers extending to the northeast in the afternoon. Cool to mild with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 OctoberLocal morning fog and frost. Isolated showers over east Gippsland, fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Cool to mild with generally light winds.Tuesday 4 OctoberLocal morning fog and frost. Isolated drizzle over east Gippsland clearing during the morning otherwise a fine and mostly sunny day. Some light patchy rain reaching the far northwest at night. Mild with light winds in the east and afternoon coastal seabreezes. Moderate northerly winds developing elsewhere.Wednesday 5 OctoberEarly fog in Gippsland. Mostly cloudy with patchy rain in western districts extending to central districts late in the day. Mild with moderate to locally fresh north to northeasterly winds but seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coastThe next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
