Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 1/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system lies over NSW and extends a trough towards the northeast. This low will develop further as the system moves to the state's northeast overnight, before deepening off the north coast on Sunday. The low should move rapidly away to the northeast later on Sunday. Behind this system, a high is expected to move towards Tasmania extending a ridge across southeast Australia, with another inland trough entering the far west of the state later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers in the west, clearing. Scattered showers in the east. The chance of thunderstorms except in the far west. South to southwest winds in the west, becoming fresh to strong, and northeast to southeast winds in the east.Sunday 2 OctoberIsolated showers in the eastern half, tending scattered to widespread near the coast. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds, fresh to strong near the coast and higher parts of the ranges.Monday 3 OctoberIsolated showers east of the Divide, tending scattered about the northern coast. Fine in the west. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast in the north.Tuesday 4 OctoberIsolated showers central and north coast. Late patchy rain developing in the far west. Fine elsewhere. Fresh southerly winds along the coast. Moderate southeast to northeast winds inland.Wednesday 5 OctoberEarly coastal showers in the north. Patchy rain in the west. Fine elsewhere. South to southeast winds on the north coast. Northeasterly winds elsewhere.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Sunday.Product IDN10031
