Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Oct 1/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over northern Victoria is forecast to move over southern NSW this morning before deepening off the northern New South Wales coast tonight. A slow moving high pressure system will pass over Tasmania late Sunday and early Monday then reach the Tasman Sea on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayRain areas contracting to Gippsland in the afternoon. Scattered showers to follow, becoming isolated from the west and mostly clearing over the north and west by late afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the north during the afternoon and small hail possible over western districts. Showers falling as snow above 1300m over the Alps. A cool to cold day with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, strong about parts of the coast.Sunday 2 OctoberMorning frost patches inland. Scattered showers in the southeast contracting to east Gippsland, otherwise fine. Cool to mild with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds.Monday 3 OctoberMorning frost patches inland and fog patches in the east. Isolated light showers over east Gippsland, otherwise fine. Cool to mild with light to moderate easterly winds.Tuesday 4 OctoberMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated morning drizzle over east Gippsland. Otherwise fine apart from some late patchy rain over the far northwest. Mild with light to moderate northerly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
