Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 30/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low to the east of Tasmania is moving slowly towards New Zealand and a trough lies through southwestern New South Wales. A low develops within this trough as the system moves to the state's east early Saturday. This low is expected to deepen further as it reaches the coast later on the weekend, before moving rapidly away to the northeast. Behind this system, a high is expected to move towards Tasmania extending a ridge across southeast Australia.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on the central and southern ranges and the southwest inland, tending scattered near the Victorian border. Snow showers about the Alps. The chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms in the far west. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Fresh west to southwest winds, with local afternoon sea breezes on the northern coast.Saturday 1 OctoberIsolated showers in the west, clearing. Scattered showers in the east. The chance of thunderstorms except in the far west. South to southwest winds in the west, becoming fresh to strong, and northeast to southeast winds in the east.Sunday 2 OctoberIsolated showers in the eastern half, tending scattered to widespread near the coast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. The chance of a thunderstorm on the slopes. Southwest to southeast winds, fresh to strong near the coast.Monday 3 OctoberIsolated showers east of the Divide, tending scattered about the northern coast. Fine in the west. South to southeasterly winds, fresh to strong along the coast in the north.Tuesday 4 OctoberIsolated showers central and north coast. Fine elsewhere. Southerly winds along the coast.
