Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 28/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong front preceded by a rain band, thunderstorms and gusty northerly winds is moving through the state. Following the front, another , colder, front with strong and gusty west to southwest winds will move through the state on Thursday. An upper level trough is likely to cross the state over the weekend with a low pressure system developing over the Tasman Sea by late Saturday/Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayRain areas over most of the state with thunderstorms over the inland. Fresh to strong north to northwest winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change in the far southwest.Thursday 29 SeptemberRain areas and possible thunderstorms in central and eastern districts, easing to showers during the day and clearing in the west during the morning and from most of the north and much of the coast by evening. Snow on the Alps. Fresh to strong northwest winds turning colder west to southwesterly.Friday 30 SeptemberShowers on the western slopes of the southern and central ranges ranges and along the Victorian border, extending to the western inland in the afternoon. Isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms in the southwest. Fine elsewhere. Fresh west to southwest winds.Saturday 1 OctoberScattered showers in the east. Isolated showers over most of the remainder clearing in the west. South to southwest winds, fresh to strong in the westSunday 2 OctoberShowers in the east, tending widespread about parts of the central coast and isolated over the inland.
