Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 26/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A small low lies well off the northern New South Wales coast. A high pressure system is centered to the east of Tasmania. Both systems are forecast to move east during the next few days, with the high extending a ridge towards the northern New South Wales coast. During Wednesday and Thursday a gusty cold front preceded by a rain band is expected to move through the state.
Forecast for the rest of MondayShowers along the central and north coast becoming isolated and clearing from the south. Possible shower or two developing in the far southwest. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh to strong on the north coast. Dangerous surf conditions in the north.Tuesday 27 SeptemberIsolated showers developing in the west and over the southern inland. Possible early shower or two on the north coast. Fine elsewhere. Very warm day in the west and in the northern inland. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening in the west and on the south coast. Dangerous surf conditions in the north.Fire Danger -  Severe for the Far Western.Wednesday 28 SeptemberFine in the far northeast. Patchy rain elsewhere increasing to rain areas over the southern inland where thunderstorms are possible. North to northwest winds becoming fresh to strong and gusty over the inland of a late west to southwest change in the west. North to northeast winds along the coast, strong in the south.Thursday 29 SeptemberRain areas in central and eastern districts, easing to showers during the day and clearing from most of the coast. Isolated showers in the far west, clearing later. Snow on the Alps. Fresh to strong northwest winds turning colder southwesterly.Friday 30 SeptemberScattered showers for the western slopes of the southern ranges. Isolated showers for the remainder of the southern inland and far south coast. Fine elsewhere.
