Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 25/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A trough of low pressure will move over South Australia later on Monday then weaken as it moves southeastwards over Victoria on Tuesday. A low pressure system will move over the Bight on Wednesday with an associated cold front to move across western and central Victoria late in the day or at night. The low will move south of Tasmania on Thursday, allowing a colder west to southwesterly airflow to affect Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of MondayMostly sunny morning. Cloud increasing with isolated showers developing in the northwest during the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm northerly winds freshening in the afternoon.Tuesday 27 SeptemberPartly cloudy. Isolated showers contracting eastwards then clearing. Warm with fresh north to northwesterly winds.Wednesday 28 SeptemberAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms extending eastwards with possible heavy falls in the northeast. Mild with fresh to strong northerly winds ahead of a westerly change spreading to the east at night.Thursday 29 SeptemberScattered showers over mainly southern and mountain districts, with isolated thunderstorms in the east. Snowfalls down to 1300 metres on the Alps. Fresh northwest to westerly winds, tending more southwesterly in the west and strong near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDV10310
