Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is over the eastern Bight and is expected to be located over Bass Strait on Sunday , after which it will move towards New Zealand. An upper trough is also over the eastern Bight and will move over New South Wales on Saturday. When the trough moves over the Tasman on Sunday, a low is likely to develop along the NSW coast, probably about central to northern parts of the coast, bringing a deepening onshore flow over the coast. This pattern is expected to bring showers to most areas east of the Divide during Saturday and Sunday.
Longer term a deep low in the Bight with an associated trough and active cold front is expected to bring rain, showers, snow and windy conditions to the state during the second half of the week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about the southern coast and ranges, increasing during the day and extending to the north during the afternoon and extending to the northern and central inland during the afternoon and evening. slopes. Afternoon thunderstorms developing over the northeast, possibly extending to the central inland and coast during the evening. Fine elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeasterly winds elsewhere.Fire Danger -  Very High: North WesternSunday 25 SeptemberScattered showers in the east, more isolated about the ranges. Mostly fine in the west. South to southeasterly winds, fresh along the coast and ranges.Monday 26 SeptemberIsolated showers east of the Divide, clearing from the south later. The chance of patchy rain developing in the far west. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 27 SeptemberClearing showers about the north coast. Patchy rain developing over the western inland, extending to southern and central areas later. Fine elsewhere.
