Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 23/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system approaching the Bight is moving steadily eastwards but will remain to the west of Victoria during Saturday. The high will then pass just to the south of Victoria on Sunday and will slowly move across the Tasman Sea on Monday as a trough of low pressure moves over South Australia. The trough will weaken as it slips southeastwards over Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPartly cloudy in the south with isolated showers about the coast. Mostly clear inland. Light to moderate south to southwesterly winds.Saturday 24 SeptemberEarly frost patches inland. Isolated showers about the coast at first, extending on and south of the ranges during the morning and developing over the northwest during the afternoon. Snow showers possible above 1300m. A cool and partly cloudy day with moderate to locally fresh south to southeasterly winds.Sunday 25 SeptemberEarly frost patches inland with local early fog patches in the south. Isolated showers over Gippsland and near the Otways ranges, mostly clearing in the afternoon. Otherwise a partly cloudy day in the south and mostly sunny in the north. Light to moderate east to southeast winds with afternoon seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.Monday 26 SeptemberMostly sunny morning. Cloud increasing with patchy rain developing over western districts during the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm northerly winds freshening in the afternoon.Tuesday 27 SeptemberPartly cloudy. Areas of patchy light rain over central and eastern parts clearing during the afternoon, before redeveloping in the northwest at night. Warm with freshening north to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
