Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 20/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving northeast over northeastern New South Wales and a high pressure system over Western Australia is extending a ridge behind the front. The high will move over the western parts of the state on Wednesday and over the Tasman Sea on Thursday maintaining the ridge to the northeast. Another front is expected to move through the state during Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the southeast falling as snow about the higher Alps. The chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms about the northern ranges and slopes. Fine elsewhere. Strong gusty northwest to southwest winds.Wednesday 21 SeptemberMostly sunny. Southwest to southeast winds tending light and variable inland.Fire Danger -  Very High: Northwest Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and PlainsThursday 22 SeptemberMostly sunny. Northwest to northeast winds.Friday 23 SeptemberPossible isolated showers about the southeastern Victorian border, and on the South Coast. Mostly sunny remainder. Northwest winds ahead of a gusty southwest to southerly change .Saturday 24 SeptemberIsolated showers along the coast and east ranges. Mostly fine remainder, with cloud increasing in the west.
