Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 19/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong cold front crossed Victoria last night. A cooler westerly airflow will follow today then a high pressure system is expected to cross New South Wales on Wednesday. Another cold front is forecast to reach Victoria on Thursday night, with the next high moving into the Bight on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers over the southwest and about the northeast ranges, with only isolated showers with possible hail and thunder over remaining southern and mountain districts. Snow showers above 1200 metres. Shower activity contracting to the southwestern and central coasts at night. Remaining fine over the northwest. Generally cool with a fresh west to southwesterly wind.Wednesday 21 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southwest and near the central coast, clearing later. Remaining dry but partly cloudy elsewhere. Morning frost patches in the northeast then a cool to mild day with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Thursday 22 SeptemberEarly fog patches over the northeast then a mostly sunny day. Mild to warm with northwesterly winds, shifting cooler west to southwesterly over western districts during the evening. Isolated showers developing over the southwest with the change.Friday 23 SeptemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, fine in the north. Cool with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds extending throughout early in the morning then easing during the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDV10310
