Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 18/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system off the New South Wales is drifting towards New Zealand, while a trough and associated cold front approach the state's west. Hot northerly winds will affect many inland districts today before the front brings a cool and gusty change to the west this evening, extending to the coast during Tuesday. This system may bring showers to some southern areas, more likely west of the ranges, and a little snow is forecast for the Alps. The cooler temperatures are likely to be quite short-lived, however, as the next high centre is expected to develop over New South Wales during Wednesday, with a warmer air mass bringing a return to generally fine conditions through to the week's end.
Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of showers over the southern inland in the late afternoon or evening. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere, after some early fog and low cloud about the coast and ranges. Northwest to northeasterly winds, strengthening in the southwest and along the southern coast. A gusty southwesterly change in the west late in the day.Fire Danger - Severe: Far Western.
