Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred near the Queensland coast extends a ridge into northern New South Wales, and is promoting generally fine and stable weather conditions across the region. This system will remain stationary through the weekend, while weak cold fronts from the Southern Ocean pass to the south. One of these fronts is expected to bring a southerly change to some districts today, however this will be short-lived as the high remains dominant. A more vigorous front is forecast to move across the state Monday night and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Generally sunny apart from some high cloud across the north, and cloud developing in the southeast late in the day. Very warm and dry northwesterly winds, with a cooler southerly change moving along the southern and central coasts, gusty near the coast.Fire Danger -  Very high for Hunter, Metropolitan, Mid North Coast, North West Plains, Central Tablelands.Monday 19 SeptemberIsolated late showers and possible thunderstorms across the southeastern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Isolated early fog patches in the east. Northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh to strong in the southwest and along the southern coast. A late southwesterly change in the far west.Tuesday 20 SeptemberIsolated showers over the southeastern inland, more widespread about the western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers on the Alps. Isolated afternoon showers in the northeast. Fine elsewhere. North to northwest winds ahead of a cooler west to southwest change.Wednesday 21 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny, apart from the chance of a shower on the western slopes of the southern ranges. Mostly light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
