Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front move across Victoria tonight and reach the far east tomorrow morning. A narrow ridge of high pressure will follow on Sunday then a stronger cold front will cross the State on Monday with a cooler westerly airflow to follow on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler, gusty southwesterly from the southwest. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms over southern districts with the change.Sunday 18 SeptemberFine apart from morning fog patches inland and isolated morning drizzle in the south. Cool to mild and becoming mostly sunny during the afternoon with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 19 SeptemberPartly cloudy with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms developing from the west, mainly affecting southern and mountain districts. Warm to very warm with strengthening northerly winds ahead of a cooler and gusty westerly change developing over the southwest around midday then extending eastwards during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 20 SeptemberScattered showers over the southwest and about the northeast ranges, with only isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts. Snow showers above 1300 metres. Remaining dry over the northwest. Generally cool with a fresh westerly wind.Wednesday 21 SeptemberIsolated showers on and south of the ranges, contracting to the southwest and then clearing. Clearing snow showers above 1600 metres. Remaining fine in the northwest and East Gippsland. Cool to mild with mainly moderate west to northwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Sunday.Product IDV10310
