Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 17/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over Queensland extends a ridge into northern New South Wales, and is promoting generally fine and stable weather conditions across the region. This system will remain stationary through the weekend, while weak cold fronts from the Southern Ocean pass to the south. One of these fronts is expected to bring a southerly change to some districts overnight or on Sunday, however this will be short-lived. A more vigorous front is forecast early in the new week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and sunny, apart from some high cloud at times in the south. Northwest winds, freshening across the south and west. Afternoon sea breezes along much of the coast.Sunday 18 SeptemberThe chance of early showers on the far southern ranges. Fine and mostly sunny otherwise. Very warm, dry northwest winds ahead of a cooler southwest to southeast change in the south and along much of the coast, gusty near the coast.Fire Danger -  Very high for Hunter, Metropolitan, Mid North Coast, North West Plains, Central Tablelands.Monday 19 SeptemberIsolated late showers and possible thunderstorms in the southeastern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Isolated early fog patches in the east. Fresh northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh to strong in the southwest and along the south coast, ahead of a late southwesterly change in the far west.Tuesday 20 SeptemberIsolated showers in the southeastern inland, more widespread about the western slopes of the ranges. Snow showers on the Alps. Isolated afternoon showers in the northeast. Fine elsewhere. North to northwest winds ahead of a gusty west to southwest change spreading northeastwards.Wednesday 21 SeptemberFine and mostly sunny apart from the chance of a shower on the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Mostly light to moderate southwest to southeast winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
