Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over waters south of the Bight is expected to cross the State Saturday afternoon and evening. A narrow ridge of high pressure will follow on Sunday then a stronger cold front is expected on Monday with a cooler westerly airflow to follow on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayLocal early morning fog, then fine for much of the day with warm north to northwesterly winds freshening. A cool, gusty southwesterly change developing from the southwest in the afternoon and extending to the east at night. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing over southern districts with the change.Sunday 18 SeptemberFine apart from morning fog patches inland and isolated morning drizzle in the south. Cool to mild and mostly sunny by the afternoon with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 19 SeptemberPartly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms developing from the west, mainly affecting southern and mountain districts. Warm to very warm northerly winds strengthening ahead of a cool and gusty westerly change developing over the southwest around midday then extending eastwards during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 20 SeptemberScattered showers over the southwest and about the northeast ranges, with only isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain districts. Showers falling as snow above over Alpine areas. Dry over the northwest. Generally cool with a fresh westerly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
