Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 16/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred over Queensland extends a ridge into northern New South Wales, and is promoting generally fine and stable weather conditions across the region. This system will remain stationary through the weekend, while weak cold fronts from the Southern Ocean pass to the south. One of these fronts is expected to bring a southerly change to some districts overnight or on Sunday, however this will be short-lived. A slightly more vigorous front is forecast early in the new week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and sunny, apart from some high cloud at times in the south. Northwest winds, freshening across the south and west. Afternoon sea breezes along much of the coast.Fire Danger -  Very High in the Far Western and North Western Fire Areas.Sunday 18 SeptemberThe chance of early showers on the far southern ranges. Fine and sunny otherwise. Northwest winds ahead of a southwest to southeast change in the south and along the coast.Monday 19 SeptemberIsolated late showers in the southeastern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Fresh northwest to northeasterly winds ahead of a late southwesterly change in the far west.Tuesday 20 SeptemberIsolated showers in the southeastern inland contracting to the Alpine area. Isolated afternoon showers in the northeast. Fine elsewhere. North to northwest winds ahead of a west to southwest change spreading northeastwards.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Saturday.Product IDN10031
