Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 15/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure ridge will persist across central Australia, while a trough of low pressure will cross southern Victoria today. A cold front is expected to cross the State on Saturday then a stronger cold front is expected on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers extending across mainly southern and mountain districts. A mild day in the south, warm in the north, with light to moderate northwest winds gradually tending southwesterly.Saturday 17 SeptemberFine at first with warm to hot north to northwesterly winds strengthening. A cool, gusty west to southwesterly change developing from the west in the early afternoon and extending to the east at night. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing with the change and scattered showers following near the coast.Sunday 18 SeptemberFine apart from morning fog patches inland and isolated morning showers over Gippsland. Cool to mild and mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 19 SeptemberBecoming cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms developing from the west. Warm to hot northerly winds strengthening ahead of a cool and gusty westerly change developing in the west around midday then extending eastwards during the afternoon and evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Friday.Product IDV10310
