Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 13/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is centred over northwest NSW. A cold front approaches western Victoria,and is expected to cross Victoria and southeastern NSW today, brushing the south and central coast on Thursday before moving away. The high moves over southeast Queensland or the northern Tasman Sea and will then extend a ridge to the south, over NSW, for the remainder of the week. A second front is expected to enter southwest NSW later on Saturday or Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayChance of isolated showers along the eastern Victorian border region later today, otherwise sunny. Early frost patches about the ranges and western slopes. Northwesterly winds, strong on the southern ranges, ahead of a south to southwesterly change in the south during the afternoon and evening. Afternoon sea breezes on the north coast.Thursday 15 SeptemberThe chance of isolated early showers or snow about the Alps, and isolated showers extending northwards along the southern half of the coast. Otherwise sunny. Mostly light winds in the west, northwest to southwest winds in the east turning southerly along the southern half of the coast.Friday 16 SeptemberChance of late isolated showers about the Alps and the eastern Victorian border. Otherwise sunny. Light variable winds in the northeast. West to northwest winds elsewhere.Saturday 17 SeptemberSunny. Northwest winds increasing in the west ahead of a late southwest change in the far southwest. Northeast sea breezes along the north and south coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
