Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 13/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over northern New South Wales will be slow moving until Friday. A cold front over waters south of the Bight will approach western Victoria tonight then weaken as it crosses southern Victoria on Wednesday. A high pressure ridge will then move across northern Victoria on Thursday before another weak cold front crosses Bass Strait on Friday. Another cold front will race across Bight waters and move through Victoria on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from the chance of a light shower about the southwest coast late in the evening. Cool with moderate to fresh northwesterly wind, locally strong about the west coast.Wednesday 14 SeptemberIsolated showers extending over southern and mountain districts. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly then easing later.Thursday 15 SeptemberIsolated showers in the far east and about the coast, clearing to a fine afternoon. Local early frost and fogs in the north. Cool to mild and mostly sunny with light to moderate westerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes in Gippsland.Friday 16 SeptemberCool to mild and partly cloudy in the south with the chance of light showers. Fine, mild to warm and mostly sunny in the north. Light to moderate northwest wind tending southwest to southerly.Saturday 17 SeptemberFine at first with warm north to northwesterly wind freshening. A cooler, fresh and gusty west to southwesterly change developing from the west in the early afternoon and extending to the east at night. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing with the change and scattered showers following near the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
