Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 11/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Bight will move slowly eastwards then linger over eastern Australia for most of the week. A weak cold front will reach southwestern Victoria late Tuesday then cross the State on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers in the east contracting to Gippsland. Showers more widespread with possible hail and thunder in the east this afternoon. Showers also falling as snow above 1100 metres. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds gradually easing.Monday 12 SeptemberWidespread morning frosts, locally severe in the northeast. Isolated showers near the coast, also possible over the southwest. Cool with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 13 SeptemberFine apart from isolated showers about the southwest in the evening. Areas of morning frost then a cool to mild day with light to moderate northwesterly winds.Wednesday 14 SeptemberScattered showers in southern and mountain districts, isolated showers in the north, although remaining fine in the far northwest. Snowfalls about alpine areas. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds shifting southwesterly then easing.Thursday 15 SeptemberFine apart from isolated coastal showers. Cool to mild and mostly sunny with light to moderate westerly winds and afternoon seabreezes about the Gippsland coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Monday.Product IDV10310
