Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 10/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system with an associated trough is approaching New Zealand. A strong high pressure system in the western Bight extends a ridge to the northern Tasman Sea. The high is expected to move over southeastern Australia, after another front moves along the coast during Sunday. It will then become centered in the northern Tasman Tuesday through Friday, maintaining a ridge across northern NSW. Meanwhile a series of lows is moving eastwards in the southern ocean. Fronts extending northwards from these lows may affect the south of the state during the end of the working week.
Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance of isolated showers over the inland, but more likely about the southern and central slopes. Isolated showers extending northwards along the southern and central coast during the day. Partly cloudy elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds, fresh about the ranges and the southern and central coastal fringe.Monday 12 SeptemberEarly frosts about the ranges and slopes and early fog patches about the southwestern inland. Isolated showers on the central coast contracting northwards and clearing from the south. Mostly sunny elsewhere. South to southwest winds.Tuesday 13 SeptemberEarly frosts about the ranges and slopes. Early fog patches in the northeast and the southwest. The chance of showers on the far north coast. Sunny over most of the remainder. Southeast to northeast winds in the far northeast, west to northwest winds elsewhere.Wednesday 14 SeptemberIsolated showers developing about the southern parts of the southern slopes, ranges and coast. Northwesterly winds tending westerly. Afternoon sea breezes on the north coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Sunday.Product IDN10031
