Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 9/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong cold front crossed Victoria on Friday morning, bringing a cold southwesterly airflow to the State that will persist for the weekend. A high pressure system will cross the Bight on Sunday then move across South Australia to lie over New South Wales late Monday. The next cold front will enter southwestern Victoria late on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayScattered showers and local hail and thunder over southern and mountain districts and isolated showers on the northern plains. Snowfalls lowering to between 700 and 1000 metres. Cold with a fresh southwesterly wind.Saturday 10 SeptemberScattered showers over southern and mountain districts with hail at first in the east. Snowfalls down to 800 metres at first in the east, rising to about 1400 metres in the afternoon. Isolated showers possible over the northern plains. Cold with a fresh to locally strong southwesterly wind.Sunday 11 SeptemberScattered showers in southern and mountain areas and isolated showers in the north. Snowfalls above 1400 metres. Cool to cold with moderate to fresh west to southwest wind.Monday 12 SeptemberIsolated showers near the coast, generally clearing. Cool with light to moderate west to northwesterly winds.Tuesday 13 SeptemberFine at first. Cool to mild with showers developing in the southwest later as moderate to fresh northwesterly winds tend more westerly.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Saturday.Product IDV10310
