Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough lies over northeast New South Wales, while a weak ridge is situated over the southwest. The trough is expected to deepen during Thursday in response to an approaching upper level feature, generating rain over some northern and central districts. Cold fronts from the Southern Ocean will affect the state later on Thursday and Friday, while a strong high to the west moves closer. Rain should ease to showers early Friday as the high to the west extends a strengthening ridge into the state. During this time, a low is expected to develop over the Tasman Sea, with a strong pressure difference driving very cold and windy conditions across southeast Australia.
