Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the Bight will move over South Australia and weaken today. A weak ridge of high pressure will then extend across Victoria until Friday when a strong cold front will cross Victoria, bringing a cold southwesterly airflow to the State for the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayMorning frost and fog patches. A partly cloudy day with isolated afternoon showers possible over most districts although more likely about the coast and in the west. Showers falling as snow above 1200 metres. Cool with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 8 SeptemberEarly fog and frost patches inland. Isolated showers near the coast, developing inland late morning and during the afternoon and falling as snow on the Alpine peaks. Cool and partly cloudy with light winds and coastal seabreezes.Friday 9 SeptemberScattered showers and possible hail over southern and mountain districts falling as snow above 800 metres. Isolated thunderstorms possible over Gippsland. Isolated showers over the northwest. Cold with a fresh to strong southwesterly wind.Saturday 10 SeptemberScattered showers and local hail over southern and mountain districts falling as snow above 800 metres, but rising to 1200 metres. Isolated showers over the northwest. Cold with a fresh to strong southwesterly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDV10310
