Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 7/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high is centered to the SW of WA and another high is east of New Zealand with a weak ridge between these systems through Bass Strait. A front over the northeast is stalling , leaving a weak trough over northern NSW. This will strengthen on Thursday as an upper trough approaches from the west. A low is expected to form east of the southern coast on Saturday, with colder, gusty southwesterly winds developing over the state during Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayEarly fog areas about the inland and the far northeast corner. Isolated showers in the northeast, chiefly in the afternoon. tending scattered about the ranges and coast. Thunderstorm developing in the northeast during the afternoon. Partly cloudy along the southern border with the chance of isolated afternoon showers. Fine and sunny remainder. Southwest to southeast winds, tending northwest to northeasterly in the northeast.Thursday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers, contracting east and becoming scattered in eastern and northern districts. Generally light and variable winds, with afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 9 SeptemberScattered showers in the east, tending isolated in the central west and southwest. Fine in the far northwest. North to northwesterly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change through most western and southern districts.Saturday 10 SeptemberIsolated showers in the eastern half of the state, contracting eastwards during the day. Fresh to strong southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Wednesday.Product IDN10031
