Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 6/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over New Zealand extends a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast and into Queensland. A trough is over the southern inland and a cold front near Adelaide will move through western and southern NSW today before stagnating into a trough over the east on Wednesday and Thursday while an upper cold pool passes over the state, A low is expected to form east of the South Coast on Saturday, with a vigorous cold outbreak over the state Friday/Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayEarly fog about the northern ranges. Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the west and south, extending to central districts through the day, and easing to showers later. Late snow showers on the Alps. The chance of isolated showers in the far northeast. Fresh to strong north to northwest winds ahead of a gusty west to southwest change in the west and southWednesday 7 SeptemberIsolated showers in the east, clearing from the southeast early. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine to the west. Southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers, contracting east and tending to rain areas in eastern districts. Generally light and variable winds, with afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 9 SeptemberRain areas in the east, tending to showers in the central west and southwest. Fine in the far northwest. North to northwesterly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change through most western and southern districts.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Tuesday.Product IDN10031
