Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Sep 4/11 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the east Tasman Sea will move slowly towards New Zealand today. A weak cold front has cleared eastern Victoria but a stronger cold front will approach the west late today before crossing the State on Tuesday. A low pressure trough is expected to develop over South Australia on Wednesday before moving over Victoria on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayMorning fog patches. Isolated showers over northern and eastern districts, mainly during the afternoon. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Mild and partly cloudy with light winds tending moderate northerly.Tuesday 6 SeptemberA band of rain crossing the State from the west during the morning then easing to isolated showers before clearing from the northwest. Fresh to locally strong northerly winds backing colder west to southwesterly then easing a little. Late snow showers in Alpine regions above 1100 metres.Wednesday 7 SeptemberEarly frost patches mostly in the north. Isolated showers clearing from the east in the morning but developing in the southwest and near the coast during the afternoon. Cool with light winds tending northwesterly.Thursday 8 SeptemberIsolated showers extending throughout and becoming scattered in the southwest. Snow showers in Alpine areas above 1400 metres. Cool and mostly cloudy with light to moderate west to southwesterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EST Monday.Product IDV10310
